ANOTHER REVOLUTIONARY AWARD-WINNING PRODUCT FROM GARELICK/EEz-In.FROM THE PAGES OF MOTOR BOATING MAGAZINE: Auxiliary motor brackets are a must-have item for fishermen who zoom offshore in boats powered by big V-6 outboards, then troll with a smaller four-stroke to minimize fuel consumption. When boat owners couldn't find a bracket robust enough to handle the extra weight of the trolling motor, Garelick first came to their aid with a hydraulically powered engine bracket that was not only stout, but also elevated the motor at the touch of a button. This past year the company launched a manually operated version. The new Garelick EZ Pump is strong enough to handle a motor up to 175 pounds and is rated for up to 25 hp. What's unique about the bracket is the ingenious way the outboard is hand-pumped by a hydraulic ram that's similar to a car jack. Operation is easy. To raise the motor out of the water, pump the handle a few times. To lower the motor, twist the lever to release the pressure. No one has to lean over the transom to deploy or retrieve the motor, eliminating back strain and the possibility of tumbling overboard into a weed line.
